Description
Encounters - World Beyond, a special exhibition of 2021 ASEAN-ROK Culture Innovation Summit, introduces works of three media artists representing the Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Vietnam as well as the Summit archives.
The title of the exhibition ‘encounters’ embodies the objectives of the summit - to propose an innovative vision through the diverse cultural exchanges that are taking place every day between the citizens of Korea and ASEAN member states. This exhibition, asks questions about the non-materialization of contemporary art, which is rapidly increasing amid the current COVID-19 pandemic.
It also asks how societies and their people can meet and work together in an age characterized by anxiety and uncertainty through the works of three artists who use technology-based media, including augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and holograms.
In this way, the works adhere to the Summit's theme, “Korean-ASEAN Thriving Together through Culture and Technology.”
