"While based in the UK and contemplating his producing practice, the following questions came to Shai’s mind, “Who do we not see on our stages? Whose stories are not being told? Where are the arts leaders who look like me?” These questions laid the foundation for his current practice exploring multidisciplinary performance-making, lesser-told narratives from Singapore and Southeast Asia, and internationalization. As a producer, he believes it is important to work collaboratively across mediums with a need to break borders and barriers. Bio
Shaifulbahri Mohamad is an Organizing Member of Producers SG. He is a representative producer of Korea-Singapore and Korea-ASEAN collaborations. He is the Artistic Director of Bahri & Co. a producing company working in the contemporary, traditional and everything-in-between of performance with a strong focus on internationalization through the development, creation and distribution of new stories and projects. He previously led Bhumi Collective which has presented work in Singapore, Malaysia and the UK. Shai is currently developing new projects with Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea. He is also currently an ISPA Singapore Fellow from 2021-2024.

Producers SG is a community network for independent producers, arts managers, and self-producing artists/artist-producers in Singapore. Led by a voluntary Organizing Team comprising producers from a range of artforms, backgrounds, and career experiences, Producers SG aims to connect and empower the independent arts sector; to build an affirmative and supportive community of practice; and to gather, create and share resources in open and generous ways. Producers SG is volunteer-run, with their various initiatives and activities realized through a combination of self-funding, project funding, and invaluable community support.
